The Armory Library

A library full of empty journals. Part of the Sanctuary Cities movement on Governors Island after the election of the 45th administration in the United States and its policies towards detention at the border. This library invited people of all walks of life to tell their own stories, and made those stories available to visitors all summer, and fall of that year. The location, a demilitarized zone, within sight of the Ellis Island, and Wall Street was a powerful nexus for the sharing of these tales and emotions.
