Built in Black Rock City in 2019, the Aural Safe Space was placed 100 feet in front of Disorient’s Sound System. Disorient’s Sound System is Cardioid and very very loud, at close range. The Aural Safe Space played 0bpm ambient music, and when you were inside it you were completely protected from the techno outside.

I got to make an awesome Earth bound Voyager satelite this year. It was a safe-space from the bpms of the playa (when one was needed), and a recording of the journey of one of our most beloved satelites through our solar system.

Thanks to John Foster and Valeria Divinorum for concept development, @dis.ori.ent for production support, Eye for placement, Shane Lee and Brandi Robinson for making the chandelier, Shane Lee and Steve Spurgat for making the beautiful trees, Perrin Meyer for the amazing sound setup, Vadim Ledvin for Lighting Design, and Tom for taking care of the lights, Yahel Ben-David and Charlie Funk for tech support, Natalie Nicol for printing the art, and Canaan Folk-Reinke for logistics and transportation, and that random group of people that decided to have a meditation circle inside of it, you really made my day! It takes a village, and I can’t think of a better one to make this with ✨✨
