OtherWorldly Transformations 2 is a theatrical performance in 4 parts based on OtherWorldly Transformations 1. Created with Amyth Ventakaramiah (music) and Karla Maltus (dance). It is a modern re-telling of folktale type 707 through the lens of sci-fi and Kathak inspired dance moves and structure.

The transition from the sculpture to the second terrace was tricky, especially figuring out how to take a fire torch over the dried coconut palm bridge. This made even the transition very interesting to orchestrate.

The dance starts in a piece made by the gang at Walkin Studios. Karla Maltus begins the performance as a planetary traveler, landing to Walkin Studios in her Spaceship Earth made out of water bottles and full of planetary maps.

The Red Room.

The spaceship, OtherWorldly Transformations.

The laser forest, is this Earth?

I created a series of lights for this project that were displayed throughout Walkin, the performance took audiences through four different spaces each arrayed with a different lighting scheme some made by hand, some specially installed LED lights, and some made of fire.
